In the 1970’s, the US Mobility Equipment Research & Design Command (MERDC) developed a system of camouflage patterns for US Army vehicles. Each camouflage pattern consists of 4 colours (two primary and two secondary colours, NULL, NULL, NULL, '); the conditions of the local terrain determined which of the patterns were to be used.
